2. Rapid City Zoning Approval and Certificate of Occupancy

   A personal training studio in a Rapid City commercial space is permitted and inspected by City of Rapid City Building Services (300 Sixth Street, 605-394-4120), a division of Community Development, which handles plans examination, building code enforcement, permitting, inspections, and the Certificate of Occupancy. Parks and Recreation has no role in issuing a Certificate of Occupancy. Confirm zoning and occupancy classification before signing a lease - moving a space into an assembly or fitness classification triggers plan review of exits, fire protection, and occupant load.
