   In Miami-Dade County, contractors are licensed by the Miami-Dade Construction Trades Qualifying Board rather than the City of Miami. As of July 1, 2025, local contractor licensing preemption rules changed in Florida, and Miami-Dade was permitted to continue licensing construction-related occupations under its existing framework.
