   Commercial pesticide application in Connecticut is certified by CT DEEP's Pesticide Management Program, not licensed by any local agency. There are two tiers. A supervisory applicator - the level a pest control firm needs so it can supervise others - must be at least 18, register on eLicense, pass a written exam scored at 75% or better within three hours (up to three categories per registration, minimum 30 days between retakes of the same category), and then pass an in-person oral examination for most categories at 79 Elm Street in Hartford. An operator, or commercial junior operator, works under a certified supervisor and takes the written exam only.
