1. City of Fairbanks — City Business License

   Every business operating inside Fairbanks city limits needs a City Business License from the City Clerk’s Office (800 Cushman Street, 907-459-6702), in addition to the Alaska state business license. Each separate line of business needs its own license. Licenses expire the last day of January and renew by the last business day of February; the City will not issue a building permit to a business without a valid license.

   Casual or client photography in Fairbanks does not require a permit. A City of Fairbanks Special Event Permit (Fairbanks General Code 78-572) is needed only if you organize an event or procession that uses city streets or city property — applications go to the City Engineering Department (907-459-6741) for review by police, fire, the traffic engineer, and public works before the City Clerk's Office takes payment. A separate Multi-Vendor Event Permit (FGC 14-71 to 14-74) applies to vendor markets.
