   Alaska has no Secretary of State and no county filing offices, and the Municipality of Anchorage does not register DBAs. Per the DCCED/CBPL Business Licensing FAQ, a separate Alaska business license is required for each different name a business operates or advertises under, so a DBA/AKA/trade name is obtained by taking out an additional state business license in that name. Exclusive rights to a name are separate: a Business Name Reservation (120 days) or Business Name Registration (five years, requires a current business license) is filed with the CBPL Corporations Section under AS 10.06.
