   The Nashville Fire Marshal's Office inspects new construction, remodels and renovations, U&O permits, fire suppression systems, fire detection and alarm systems, beer board permits, short-term rentals, state licensed facilities and operational permit sites. A yoga studio operating as an assembly occupancy needs two things: the Fire Marshal sign-off that forms part of the Metro Codes Use and Occupancy process, and a Places of Assembly operational permit from the Fire Marshal, applied for through ePermits. Inspection covers egress and exit capacity, occupant load posting, emergency lighting, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, and extinguishers.
