Required for any vendor selling taxable goods or services in Oklahoma. Register with the Oklahoma Tax Commission online through OkTAP. Oklahoma levies 4.5% state sales tax; cities and counties add their own local rates on top, so the combined rate depends on the delivery address — look it up on the OTC rate charts rather than assuming a statewide maximum.

Plumbing contractors in Oklahoma must hold a Plumbing Contractor License from the Construction Industries Board. The applicant must meet Journeyman-level experience plus one additional year in the trade and pass the CIB examination; CIB rules impose no separate 'Master Plumber' designation. An active contractor must maintain a $5,000 corporate surety bond payable to the Board (or $5,000 cash or a certificate of deposit held for bonding) and carry liability insurance of at least $50,000 with the Board notified of any change.

Oklahoma City does not require a general business license and has no 'Business Development Department.'
