   A fitness studio in a commercial space needs a Certificate of Occupancy from Jersey City — this is a municipal function, so Hudson County has no role. The Division of Zoning (1 Jackson Square, 2nd floor, 201-547-4832) reviews the application and inspects the premises against Chapter 345 of the Municipal Code, and the certificate is invalid without the signatures of both the Zoning Officer and the Construction Code Official. The space must be approved for assembly or fitness use, meeting exit, ventilation and occupant-load requirements.
