Detroit requires all businesses to obtain a business license through the Buildings, Safety Engineering and Environmental Department (BSEED). This includes yoga studios operating as commercial establishments.
Detroit Certificate of Occupancy
A Certificate of Occupancy is required for commercial yoga studio locations. Studios serving 50 or more persons are classified as assembly occupancy (Group A-3). Detroit BSEED inspects premises before issuing a CO.
