Michigan State Requirements

Michigan requires a state license for any handyman or contractor performing residential repair and maintenance work where the project cost exceeds $600. The most applicable license is the Residential Maintenance and Alteration Contractor (M&A) license issued by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).
