1 stopAlaska Entity Registration — DCCED Corporations Section
Alaska has no Secretary of State and no counties, so all entity filings go to the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing (CBPL) in DCCED. An event planning business organized as an LLC files Articles of Organization (form 08-0484) and a corporation files Articles of Incorporation (form 08-0400), online or by PDF. A sole proprietor or partnership operating under a trade name instead files a Business Name Registration with CBPL. This entity filing is separate from — and in addition to — the $50/year Alaska Business License every business must hold.
Official government source$250 to file Articles of Organization (LLC) or Articles of Incorporation (corporation); $350 to register a foreign LLC. A biennial report is $100 for domestic entities ($200 foreign). A sole-proprietor Business Name (DBA) Registration is $25 for five years.1–7 business days for online filings; hardcopy filings take longer

3 stopsNo Anchorage General Business License (state license only)
The Municipality of Anchorage does not issue a general business license for event planning or any other ordinary business. The Municipal Clerk licenses only a short list of specific activities (adult-oriented establishments, pawnbrokers, private detective agencies, roving vendors and ice cream trucks, tow operators, used-auto display lots, teen nightclubs, circuses/carnivals, short-term rentals, and marijuana establishments). The applicable general license is the Alaska state business license from DCCED/CBPL. Running the business from home also needs no permit: Anchorage allows home occupations by right under AMC 21.05.070D.10, subject to the code's standards.

Municipality of Anchorage Parks and Recreation — Park and Facility Reservation Permit
Anchorage is a unified home-rule municipality with no county government, so there is no separate county event permit. Events on municipal park land or in municipal facilities are permitted through Anchorage Parks and Recreation's park and facility reservation system: picnic shelters and outdoor venues are booked online up to a year in advance in full-day or half-day blocks, while indoor recreation facilities are reserved directly with each facility using a downloadable reservation form. Some venues require proof of insurance, and alcohol is prohibited in all municipal parks and facilities unless a valid alcohol waiver is obtained and displayed.
